The camp serves not only as a place of safety but also as a center for advocacy, education, and hope.

Towering at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet), Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest peak and the tallest free-standing mountain in the world. Climbing to its summit, Uhuru Peak, is a rare and rewarding adventure. No ropes or technical gear required, just steady determination, altitude acclimatization, and a love for the outdoors.
Treks typically take 6 to 8 days, depending on the chosen route, allowing time for gradual ascent and proper acclimatization. Along the way, you'll pass through a breathtaking range of ecosystems from tropical rainforest to alpine desert to snow-capped summit.
You don’t have to reach the summit to experience the beauty and wonder of Mount Kilimanjaro. For many travelers, exploring the lower slopes offers a rewarding adventure without the demands of high altitude.
Guided day hikes or short overnight treks take you through the mountain’s lower ecosystems, including lush montane forests filled with colobus monkeys, waterfalls, and rare flora. These routes give you a real sense of Kilimanjaro’s grandeur while allowing you to return to comfortable accommodations at the end of the day.

As part of your journey through northern Tanzania, consider a visit to Wine To Water, a nonprofit organization making a powerful impact through clean water and sanitation projects across the region.
Located just outside Arusha, the Wine To Water site is home to a small locally operated ceramic water filter operation. Here, you’ll learn how these simple yet highly effective filters are handcrafted using clay, sawdust, and colloidal silver. The clay pots are distributed to schools, villages, and healthcare centers throughout Tanzania. Each filter provides clean drinking water for up to 5–6 years and plays a critical role in reducing waterborne illness.
During your visit, you’ll meet the local team, see the filter-making process up close and in some cases have an opportunity to assist in making a pot. You will hear stories about how clean water is transforming communities, especially for women and children who often carry the daily burden of collecting it.
It’s an inspiring, hands-on experience that brings to life the real-world impact of sustainable, community-driven solutions and a reminder of the power of purposeful travel. If inclined, you can purchase an inexpensive clay pot and with your guide, hand deliver the gift of clean water to a family in need.
